OpenAI Dots Not Available? UK, EU & Fixes (Unofficial)

If OpenAI dots isn't available for you, it's usually your plan, your country, your device, or the gradual rollout. Dots needs Pro or Business Premium. OpenAI's release notes say Pro access excludes the EEA, Switzerland and the UK at launch. You must create your dot on desktop, and it may not have reached your account yet.
1. Your plan doesn't include dots
Dots works on Pro and Business Premium. Enterprise workspaces can try a beta when their admin turns it on. Free, Go, Plus and standard Business plans aren't included.

2. Your country isn't supported yet
OpenAI's release notes say Pro access excludes the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom at launch. The notes don't list the same exclusion for Business Premium.
No date has been given for the countries left out. Dots is for users 18 or older.
OpenAI hasn't published a full list of eligible countries. It says dots is rolling out in "supported markets," and names one exclusion: Pro in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. Anything else about countries below is our reading, not OpenAI's statement.

3. You're trying to create it on the wrong device
You can only create a dot in the ChatGPT desktop app (Mac or Windows) or in ChatGPT on desktop web. Phones and mobile web can't create one.
Once it exists, you can talk to it from the ChatGPT mobile app. Slack and text setup also has to be done from desktop.
4. The rollout hasn't reached your account
OpenAI's help page says features from DevDay are rolling out gradually and "some features may not be available to your account yet." That includes accounts on the right plan in the right country.
The fix is to wait. Check again in a day or two, and update the ChatGPT app first.
Some features are narrower than dots itself
Even when you have dots, a few features are limited at launch, according to OpenAI's help page:
- Texting. A limited beta, for Pro users in the US only. It isn't in Business or Enterprise workspaces, and not every US Pro user has it.
- Creating a dot on mobile. Not supported. Desktop only.
- A standalone email address for your dot. Not at launch. You can connect your personal email instead.
- Phone calls from your dot. Your dot can't start calls to you at launch.
- Specialist dots for companies. Dots with their own identity and access to a company's systems are in focused enterprise pilots, not general release.
If you can create a dot but one of these is missing, that's the reason. It isn't a bug.
