How GetOpenAIDots collects, uses and protects your information, including the eligibility checker and the notify-me email list.

GetOpenAIDots ("we," "us") publishes independent guides about OpenAI dots. This policy explains what information we collect when you use getopenaidots.com, and how we use it.

We are not affiliated with OpenAI. This policy covers only our own site. It doesn't cover ChatGPT, chatgpt.com, or any OpenAI product.

What we collect

When you use the eligibility checker:

  • The plan, country and device you choose, and the result you were shown.
  • We save these answers to see which groups of people are asking, and to improve the checker. They are not linked to your name or email.
  • We do not ask you to sign up to use the checker.

When you use the notify-me form ("email me when dots opens for my plan or country"):

  • Your email address
  • The plan and country you chose, so we send you the right update

We only use this to send you the update you asked for. We don't sell it and we don't use it for anything else. Our emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service.

Automatically, through analytics:

  • We use an analytics tool to see which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are located, so we can understand what to improve. This isn't linked to your name or email.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

If you use this site from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, our legal basis for keeping your email, plan and country is your consent, which you give when you submit the reminder form. You can withdraw it at any time. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. To do any of this, contact us.

Advertising

At launch, this site does not run ads. If we turn on advertising later, ad networks such as Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads, including personalized ads. We'll update this policy when that happens, and you'll be able to manage ad personalization through Google's Ads Settings or your browser's cookie controls.

How long we keep information

  • Emails from the notify-me form: until we send the update you signed up for, or until you ask us to delete it.
  • Eligibility checker answers: kept in aggregate form without your email or name.

Your choices

  • To stop getting emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email, or contact us.
  • To ask what information we have about you, or to have it deleted, contact us. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

GetOpenAIDots is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page when the policy changes, and note what changed if it's a meaningful change.
