Does the dot itself cost extra?

No. Your first dot is included in your Pro or Business Premium plan. OpenAI says you can add more dots in the future, or make each one faster or able to do more work per month. It hasn't announced prices for that yet.

Does talking to my dot use up my limits?

Chatting with your dot does not count toward your ChatGPT usage limits. Work you hand off does. If your dot starts a task in Codex or ChatGPT Work, that task counts as usual.

OpenAI also extended the limits for deeper work during the first month after launch. It hasn't said what the limits will be after that.

Will dots come to Plus or free users?

OpenAI says it plans to expand dots to more users soon. It has not said which plans come next or when.
